TL;DR
We are hiring people. Help us find them!
Karthik was in the Bay Area in February.
Our product is rapidly scaling for our paid clients.
We close our angel fundraising round in March.
If you can refer us to new clients or consultants, please
📞 schedule some time to talk to us!
We need People
We onboarded our first eight consultants - in Data Science, Infrastructure Engineering, Front End Engineering, Back End Engineering, Design/UX and Marketing - in January.
We are actively looking for full-time junior-to-mid consultants with immediate availability and a pathway to permanent employment, in
backend engineering (python, with some awareness of LLM tech)
data science (R + Python, with some awareness of LLM tech)
The roles will be fully remote. No geographical restrictions.
If you know somebody, please tell us.
Traveling to the West Coast
The United States is where our target market is. It’s going to be a year where our two co-founders, Karthik and Manu, spend a significant amount of time there.
We kicked things off with Karthik visiting the Bay Area to reach out to his extensive network there, and more importantly, to find some more high-value clients we could help.
A few select questions to ponder:
Branding: Babbage is both a “Team of Data Analysts” and a “Chief Data Analytics Officer”. But there are massive tradeoffs in positioning ourselves as either. Do we cannibalize their team? Do we cannibalize the CXO’s role? And is such cannibalization a bug or a feature?
Ironically, Babbage will eventually have to venture into unstructured data and co-pilot territory. We currently only process structured data (think terabytes of tables, columns, rows) and do not allow questions (because our Artificial Hypothesis Engines and Machine Learning-based Validators are our “moat”.) But more data (unstructured, in this case) will result in better Insights. And easier access (through custom questions asked by a human) will result in better Insights.
Our Product gets Built
We are building a complex data science product with heavy reliance on LLMs. We thus spent a lot of time exploring proof-of-concepts, focusing on getting access to their data. We needed that our LLM-first algorithms can recognize and handle differing data responsibly.
A sophisticated product takes time to get right, and we are proud to announce that we are in a position to provide direct, paid value to our clientele.
A “White Glove” Product
We currently have a sophisticated LLM-based data science backend to produce exceptional insights as well as a frontend to present it.
We have tried experimenting with potential clients defining their own metrics. But these clients taught us something interesting: it’s very difficult to exactly define what metrics matter to your company.
This means deep, consulting-like thinking and conversations with leaders at our potential clients is a necessary step to defining these metrics correctly. And one-time configuration of a tool to do deep analysis automatically, everyday… and we have a high value product that scales.
Our Fundraising
Sales and product expansion are capital-intensive. We are thus excited to introduce a number of sophisticated investors to our cap table. We formally close our first-ever (angel) round in March 2025, and look forward to taking them along on our exciting journey!
Thank You
It’s going to be a busy, busy year for Babbage Insight, as we aim to rapidly expand our client portfolio and turn into a sustainable company with a strong, unique set of products.
